Shanghai unveils dazzling array of events for 2025

Shanghai is all set to host an exciting lineup of business, cultural, tourism, and sports events throughout the year.

The First in Shanghai series will kick off in March and extend through May, followed by the 6th Shanghai Shopping Festival in May and June. From July to early October, the 2025 Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season will showcase signature events, including the Shanghai International Light Festival.

The city will also present these must-see events this year:

- LEGO World Play Day (June-August): To celebrate the opening of China's first LEGO-themed park — Legoland Shanghai Resort — this global-first event will feature a series of exciting activities, including city amusement parks and urban transport-themed "play transformation" initiatives.

- International Animation and Game Carnival Month (July-August): Major events such as BilibiliWorld, ChinaJoy, and the CCG Expo will take place, celebrating the digital entertainment and anime industries. Custom tickets and exclusive flight packages will be available, along with a specially designed "ACGN-themed Shanghai City Walk" tour.

- 2025 World Rowing Championships (September): Held at the Shanghai Water Sports Center, this will mark the first time the prestigious event comes to China, with over 1,000 athletes from around 60 countries and regions competing.

- Second Shanghai International Electronic Music Festival (September): Featuring top DJs and music producers from around the world, this event will offer a thrilling experience combining music and art.

- ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai (September-October): As the highest-tier ATP event in Asia, this prestigious tennis competition will integrate sports, business, tourism, and cultural elements.

- Shanghai Tourism Festival (July): This annual festival has been moved forward to July this year, offering a comprehensive travel experience for visitors and showcasing Shanghai’s dynamic tourism scene.
