Shanghai's Qingpu district celebrated its rich cultural heritage on Oct 11 with "Golden Age of the Tang Dynasty - 2025 Qingxi Classic Night", an event that brought to life relics from the Tang Dynasty through immersive performances and multimedia presentations at Songze Square.

Hosted by the Qingpu District Administration of Culture and Tourism and the Xiayang subdistrict, the evening was jointly organized with the Qingpu District Library, the Qingpu District Museum, and the Xiayang Subdistrict Community Cultural Activity Center.

Drawing inspiration from the Hundred Classics of Chinese Traditional Culture, the event featured three archeological treasures unearthed in Qingpu: a yellow-glazed pottery figurine of a woman, a Changsha kiln celadon bowl adorned with lotus petals, and a bronze mirror featuring parrots amidst branches and ribbons.

The event unfolded in three acts, combining dance, recitations, songs, short documentaries about artifacts, and theatrical scenes that captured the spirit of the Tang era.

The program aimed to create an immersive journey beyond conventional formats, emphasizing the role of multimedia technology in weaving a seamless narrative that allowed the audience to feel transported through time.

Now in its seventh year, the event has become a signature cultural celebration for Qingpu district.

The Qingpu District Library and Qingpu District Museum aim to continue drawing inspiration from classical literature to unlock the city's rich cultural heritage, transforming historical resources into engaging cultural tourism experiences and infusing everyday life with cultural vitality.
