The 2025 China Shanghai International Children's Book Fair concluded at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center on Nov 16.

This year's fair brought together 474 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions, including 194 from overseas, and showcased over 20,000 new children's books.

It attracted more than 42,000 visitors, including over 15,000 industry professionals from publishing, education, and cultural sectors.

The event facilitated nearly 1,000 intended copyright transactions, with book sales reaching around 15 million yuan ($2.1 million) and sales of cultural creative products and derivatives close to 2 million yuan.

Dean Cornish, representative of Britain's Igloo Books, highlighted the strategic importance of the Chinese market, noting steady sales growth in literature and educational books and the sector's vast potential for further expansion.

A standout element of this year's fair was the debut of the Global Children's Book Launch Platform, where select titles made their worldwide premieres.

Beyond the exhibition hall, the fair's City Link initiative connected with more than 80 reading spaces, bookstores, and cultural landmarks across Shanghai.

For the first time, visitors enjoyed exclusive discounts at dining, retail, and cultural venues by presenting their fair tickets.

The fair also featured forums, reading promotions, and other activities, underscoring the integration of culture, tourism, commerce, and exhibitions.
