Hundreds take to streets of Shanghai for Huangpu charity ride
The 2025 Circle of Huangpu River Charity Ride drew hundreds of cyclists onto the streets of Shanghai on Nov 15.
At 7 am, the riders got underway from Binjiang Avenue in Pudong New Area, embarking on a 35-kilometer journey past urban landmarks including MIFA 1862 and the riversides of Pudong and Huangpu.
The ride, which took place in partnership with the Shanghai Sports Development Foundation, allocated a portion of the proceeds to national fitness initiatives and public welfare projects, with a donation of 30,000 yuan ($4,226) being made on the day.
The award ceremony, which featured charity auctions and prize draws, took place on a cruise ship. Auction items included a one-year lease of a 50-square-meter private plot in Sanzao Village, Pudong and a Trek bicycle.
Now in its 13th year, the race has become a hallmark event of Shanghai, promoting the fusion of sports and charity and enhancing the city's reputation as a world-class sports hub.
