6th Yangtze River Delta International Cultural Industries Expo opens in Shanghai

The 6th Yangtze River Delta International Cultural Industries Expo opened in Shanghai on Nov 20, showcasing digital culture, creative industries, immersive technology, cultural equipment, and cultural innovations in the Yangtze River Delta region and beyond.

Covering 80,000 square meters at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), this year's expo brings together 1,500 cultural enterprises and institutions, underscoring its role as a flagship platform for integrated cultural-industry development.

Running until Nov 22, the expo showcases how the Yangtze River Delta region is stepping up the promotion of cultural heritage, accelerating digital transformation, and fostering new cultural formats to contribute to economic and social development.

The opening ceremony highlighted significant collaborations and achievements, underscoring the high-quality integration of the culture and industry in the region. Key announcements at the opening ceremony included the launch of the Yangtze River Delta digital culture industry fund, the blue book on cultural industry development in the region, the third batch of exemplary cases of humanistic economy in the region, and the 2025 major cultural tourism projects in the region.

This year's expo introduces an innovative "1+6" exhibition format, featuring a comprehensive development section alongside four specialized exhibitions and two thematic zones, injecting strong momentum into cross-industry integration and high-quality development.

The 5.2H pavilion, featuring a comprehensive development section, serves as a hub for cultural and economic synergy, showcasing contributions from Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, along with 53 other cities across the country, in creating a dynamic cultural industry ecosystem.

Highlighting the experiential economy, the expo presents 33 immersive projects and will host the 2025 China Immersive Industry Summit. With 126 events, including 37 high-profile industry forums, the expo addresses cutting-edge topics like immersive industries, ancient town ecosystems, Chinese enterprises' global ventures, cultural tourism investment, and AI metaverse, fostering innovation and economic value transformation in the cultural sector.
