The final roadshow of the 2025 Fuxing Island Global Design Competition was held on Nov 15, marking an end to the eight-month-long global creative event.

A total of 20 teams presented their creative works in the roadshow. Eighteen works stood out after multiple rounds of competition, earning 36 "golden apples", which symbolize resources, support, and collaboration.

According to Chen Yixing, the competition's chief curator, initial entries are considered "green apples", finalists progress into "red apples", and award-winning ideas ultimately become "golden apples".

Launched in March, the competition drew more than 1,300 innovators worldwide and received over 600 entries. The process unfolded in three stages: open selection, revival and knockout, and mixed team formation.

The finalist teams were divided into four themed sessions.

The first session focused on innovative scenarios and incubation mechanisms for future cities. The second session explored new technologies and future urban infrastructure, with entries covering energy, transportation, waste management, and greenery.

The third session optimized waterfront spaces and localized designs. The fourth session delved into artistic design and metaverse innovation.

A standout feature was the "golden apple" intent-signaling segment, where mentors and investors directly raised placards to express collaboration interests. This market-driven approach generated 36 golden apples for 18 works, creating a direct bridge between ideas and resources.

The Grand Jury Prize will be presented on Dec 6 at the Metropolitan Planning International Conference.
