Pudong aims to build a global hub for art book trade
Shanghai International Art Book Fair, China's first exhibition on imported art books, was held at Shanghai Library East from Nov 21 to 23.
The exhibition brought together 42 renowned art publishing institutions, museums, galleries, and cultural service organizations from seven countries and regions.
Among them were China National Publications Import and Export Shanghai Co Ltd and Thames & Hudson, along with 11 new exhibitors from the United States, France, Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Five themed zones were set up at the exhibition, covering domestic publishers, international publishers, museums and art galleries, professional academic institutions, and art services and platforms.
Over three days, the event hosted 10 high-level academic and cultural activities, including new book launches, forums, and signing sessions.
Topics ranged from interpretations of Palace Museum exhibitions to discussions on art brand development, enriching the experience for both professionals and the public.
The book fair has evolved from an annual event into a sustainable platform for content creation, trade, and cultural dialogue.
