The 19th Pujiang Innovation Forum will run from Sept 11 to 14 in Shanghai, with South Africa as the guest country of honor and Hunan province as the guest province of honor.

The forum is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.

Based on the theme of "Sharing Innovation and Shaping the Future: The Mission of the Global Sci-Tech Community Amid a New Round of Sci-Tech Revolution", the forum will explore how the global science and technology community can respond to shifts in research paradigms and foster an open, fair, just, and non-discriminatory environment for scientific and technological development.

It will also examine ways to deepen collaboration and joint research to address major global challenges, advance basic research and future industries and extend the benefits of achievements in science and technology to more people worldwide.

Additionally, it will look at ways to improve global science and technology governance, and how to steer scientific and technological innovation in a direction conducive to the progress of human civilization.

This year's program is set to feature an opening ceremony, a main forum, 24 thematic forums, and supporting events such as youth innovation talks and presentations of results.

Leading scientists, top entrepreneurs, founders, investors, and policymakers from China and overseas will gather to discuss topics on interdisciplinary research, AI for science, bio-manufacturing, quantum intelligent computing, brain-inspired intelligence, commercial aerospace, nuclear fusion energy, and advanced materials.

The forum will provide young people with opportunities to showcase their talents and exchange ideas, while helping unlock the innovation and entrepreneurial potential of young science and technology professionals.

During the same period, Shanghai will host a high-level conference on international cooperation in open science, the WeStart Entrepreneurial Investment Conference, and the InnoMatch Tech-Matching Fair.
