Since its launch in 2021, the China-Laos Railway has ushered Laos into a new era of modern rail transport.

The railway has changed the lives of many ordinary people. Among them is Hueyang Chiakua, a railway engineer who has grown alongside the tracks — from studying in Shanghai to returning home to build both his career and his future along the line.
