Laowai Street
Located at the intersection of Hongmei Road and Hongxu Road on the dividing line of Shanghai's Minhang and Changing districts, Laowai Street, originally known as Hongmei Entertainment Street, is a leisure landmark that brings together the flavours of over a dozen countries.
Laowaijie, or Laowai Street, has a history rooted in the decommissioned "101 Special Line" railroad, which transformed into international restaurants and bars.

Spanning 500 metres, Laowai Street is designed in European style, hosting tree-lined streets, modern sculptures, fountains and waterfalls.
The street gives off a "United Nations" vibe, with store signs displaying different countries' names.

The popularity of Laowai Street is due to its wide range of international restaurants and bars, with more than half the establishments owned by expatriates. It is home to restaurants representing 14 foreign countries and 23 bars as well as various Chinese cuisines.
