Key events of 'Shanghai Summer' season
Seven benchmark activities with international influence are set to kick off during the first Shanghai International Consumption Season, nicknamed "Shanghai Summer".

The upcoming exhibition On Top of the Pyramid: The Civilization of Ancient Egypt, is set to be the largest showcase of ancient Egypt civilization in Asia.
Running from July 19 to Aug 17, 2025, the exhibition will feature 492 relic collections, comprising 788 artifacts from various eras of ancient Egyptian civilization.
The Secrets of Saqqara, ranked as one of the world's top 10 archaeological discoveries of 2020, will be featured in the second section of the exhibition, marking the first large-scale global presentation of this discovery.
Shanghai International Cruise Festival
Time: Aug 2 – Aug 31
Venues: Shanghai International Cruise Tourist Resort, the North Bund Guoke Center, Laomatou, the Oriental Pearl Tower, Global Harbor, and Liuhe Road
Collaborating with major cruise companies, ports, and business districts from around the globe, Shanghai Summer will feature diverse themed events like the Oriental "Ship" Celebration, Eastern Reunion at North Bund, and Cruise Food Market on Liuhe Road. These activities aim to promote cruise culture, innovate consumption models, and establish Shanghai as a premier international cruise city and summer travel destination.
City Walk Pro Shanghai Urban Experience Season
Time: Aug 23 – Sept 1
Venue: multiple districts of Shanghai, a main venue and five sub venues
The City Walk Pro Shanghai Urban Experience — Xiaohongshu Street Life Festival is set to kick off on Aug 23. This event will span across multiple districts in Shanghai, including Huangpu, Xuhui, Jing'an, Changning, and Yangpu. It will feature over 100 activities ranging from concerts, dances, and art exhibitions. Participants can also look forward to lively cultural events like blogger markets, trendy sports, and gourmet tastings. Join us on the streets to experience Shanghai's diverse cultural fusion.
Shanghai International Light Festival
Time: Sept 19 – Oct 18
Venue: The festival's main venue is the Shanghai Exhibition Center, while subsidiary events will be held across 12 sub-venues spanning several districts, namely Pudong, Huangpu, Jing'an, Xuhui, Changning, Putuo, Hongkou, Yangpu, Songjiang, Qingpu, Fengxian, and Lin-gang Special Area.
The first Shanghai International Light Festival, endorsed by the International Commission on Illumination and Lighting Urban Community International, features the theme "Travel in Light — Exploring Time and Space, Unveiling the Beauty of Light". The festival will organize various activities like opening ceremonies, architectural projections, art installations, and industry exhibitions across different city areas. With over 60 themed events and 100 photo spots, it aims to boost tourism, city image, and industry integration.
Shanghai International Electronic Music Festival – Storm Electronic Music Festival

Shanghai Masters ATP 1000
Time: Sept 30 – Oct 13
Venue: Qizhong Tennis Center, Minhang district
The Shanghai Masters ATP 1000 is one of nine global tournaments and the only ATP 1000 event in the Asia-Pacific region. It has been voted as the "Best ATP 1000 Tournament of the Year" by players for five years in a row, earning praise from various quarters. Spanning two weeks during the National Day holiday, this event boasts a lineup of top-ranked tennis players, making it a highly-anticipated competition.
