The 27th Shanghai International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from June 13 to 22. The screening schedule will be unveiled on June 3, with ticket sales starting at noon on June 5 via the Damai and Taopiaopiao platforms.

This year's festival has achieved a record-breaking milestone, receiving over 3,900 film submissions for the Golden Goblet Awards across five categories, representing 119 countries and regions.

Submissions from the Americas and Africa have seen significant growth, with the Short Film category experiencing an 18 percent increase compared to last year.

Additionally, over 1,820 of the submitted films will have their world premieres at the festival, and more than 520 will have their international premieres. The combined premiere rate exceeds 80 percent, marking the highest in the festival's history.

The Golden Goblet Award jury is composed of 21 members from 13 countries and regions across Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Europe, ensuring a global perspective and cultural inclusivity in the judging process.

The jury is chaired by the acclaimed Italian director Giuseppe Tornatore. This year's jury is notably younger than in previous years, especially in the Asian New Talent category, featuring members born in the 1980s, '90s, and even '00s, with an average age of 35, making it the youngest jury in the festival's history.

The winners of the Golden Goblet Award will be announced on the evening of June 21 at the Shanghai Grand Theatre.

Following the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival, the 30th Shanghai TV Festival will be held from June 23 to 27, culminating in the Magnolia Awards ceremony on the evening of June 27 at the Lingang Performing Arts Center.

The Magnolia Awards encompass four major categories and five sections: TV Drama (in two sections: Chinese and Foreign TV Series), Documentary, Animation, and Variety Show.

Nearly a thousand works from 43 countries and regions have been submitted, with documentary submissions increasing by about 10 percent. In the animation and documentary categories, the proportion of overseas entries has been rising annually.

Esteemed international television organizations such as BBC, Sony, HBO Warner, and Disney have submitted high-quality programs for consideration. Countries such as Chile, Denmark, and Iceland have submitted entries for the first time.

The Magnolia Awards jury comprises 15 members from seven countries and regions, including China, Germany, the UK, France, and the US. Most of the judges in the Chinese TV Series section are industry leaders who have previously won Magnolia-related awards. The jury for other categories is equally impressive, featuring German screenwriter and director Henk Handloegten, US animation producer and writer Rita Street, and Japanese documentary director Ryo Takeuchi.
