Yangpu to sparkle with anime-inspired light show

The 2025 Shanghai International Light Festival is set to illuminate the city from Sept 19 to Oct 18, featuring one main venue and 16 sub-venues. The Yangpu sub-venue will host a series of events from Sept 29 to Oct 7, centered around the key areas of Fuxing Island and the Wujiaochang commercial zone.
Visitors can look forward to a captivating array of activities, including architectural projection shows, media light displays, and light art installations. The festival's opening ceremony will be held at Fuxing Island Chuantai Park, showcasing a distinctive crane light show.
Highlights
1. Cultural activities
- In collaboration with the 2025 Shanghai Urban Space Art Season, the Yangpu sub-venue will present installations that elegantly fuse art and light, offering a visual feast for attendees.
- Complementing the University Student Tourism Festival, a variety of youth-themed activities will be introduced to engage young audiences.
2. Commercial activities
- A joint light show with Papergames will take place, featuring interactive experiences and special exhibitions at Huangxing Park, along with photo spots with lighting installations. At the Fuxing Island main venue, anime character images provided by Papergames will further enhance the overall ambiance.
- In partnership with Skynet, a co-branded light show will be staged under the Inner Ring Elevated Road along the river, creating an anime-themed pedestrian light space.
- Celebrating CIFI Mall's ninth anniversary, a series of light and shadow performances will be presented, including the butterfly-themed waterfall lighting, drone displays, and laser dance performances.
- A variety of promotions will be launched in the Wujiaochang commercial area and CIFI Mall to create diverse consumer experiences.
