Yangpu to host Shanghai University Student Tourism Festival
The 2025 Shanghai Tourism Festival shines a spotlight on Yangpu, turning the district into a hub of culture, art, music, sports, and lifestyle. Central to the celebration is the Shanghai University Student Tourism Festival, connecting Yangpu with major events such as the Shanghai International Light Festival, the Shanghai Urban Space Art Season, and the Shanghai City Amateur League, all showcasing the district's youthful energy and creative spirit.
Opening ceremony
Starting on Sept 28 at Fuxing Island Chuantai Park, the Shanghai University Student Tourism Festival takes center stage with the theme "Young Island". Highlights include a youth music gala featuring mashups of themed songs, virtual idols, campus performers, and professional bands. With an open-air stage and an electric sing-along atmosphere, the night promises to ignite Fuxing Island with boundless youthful energy.
Shanghai Urban Space Art Season
From Sept 30 to Dec 13, Fuxing Island Chuantai Park will transform into a futuristic playground. With the theme "Quantum-Revival", visitors will discover immersive exhibits, tech-art collaborations, music festivals, skateboarding shows, pet-friendly activities, creative check-in spots, and thought-provoking forums.
Autumn IS International Theatre Season
Running from October to December at Theatre Young, the third Autumn IS International Theatre Season will feature 57 performances across 11 productions from Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Japan, and Belarus. The season includes two world premieres, four Asia debuts, and multiple China and Shanghai firsts, with genres spanning drama, visual theater, immersive game plays, and magic-inspired performances.
China-Europe culture carnival
This November, Yangpu will celebrate 50 years of Sino-European diplomatic relations with a cross-cultural flair. Visitors can enjoy stage performances, lifestyle markets, and interactive workshops that showcase the beauty of cultural exchange.
Music concert series
From August to October at Oriental Fisherman's Wharf, music flash mobs return with diversified themed concerts. Each performance promises a surprise highlight, shaping a new public cultural phenomenon.
Shanghai International Light Festival – Yangpu sub-venue
From Sept 29 to Oct 7, Yangpu will host the Shanghai International Light Festival with a range of exciting activities. Visitors can enjoy a lighting ceremony, outdoor light performances, interactive art installations, cultural showcases, and industry collaborations. The main events will take place on Fuxing Island, with additional light displays set up at Jiangwan Stadium, Wujiaochang, and the Yangpu riverside.
Celebili Music Festival
From Oct 18-19 on Fuxing Island, Bilibili is to take its popular music festival offline for an immersive two-day experience. Fans can enjoy a mix of indie music, anime, comics, and gaming culture, along with other youth subcultures, creating a vibrant celebration of creativity and sound.
Urban forest carnival
From Oct 1-7 at Shanghai Gongqing National Forest Park, Yangpu will come alive with trendy music, stylish sports, and delicious food markets. This forest carnival blends nature and urban fun, offering visitors a unique outdoor experience full of energy and excitement.
PetJoy Fashion Week
From Oct 31 to Nov 2 at the Shanghai Fashion Center, 2025 PetJoy Fashion Week will bring together cutting-edge designers, international pet-luxury brands, and multimedia platforms to showcase the special bond between pets and their owners through fashion. With stunning runway shows and creative displays, the festival redefines pet fashion in China and highlights the growing pet-lifestyle trend.
Street markets
From September to December, Shanghai's Daxue Road hosts a series of music-inspired street markets. Each edition offers a unique theme, blending local brands, lifestyle workshops, and creative cultural stalls.
German beer festival
