As the inaugural Yujian Shanghai tourist itinerary competition kicks off city-wide, Huangpu is offering a lineup of experiences and discounts — from dazzling light displays and trend-setting events to cultural performances — inviting visitors to discover the vibrant winter charm at the heart of Shanghai.
Highlights
1. Yuyuan Mall
This winter, Yuyuan Mall presents a free dynamic illumination display each evening. Amber-hued lights trace the elegant curves of traditional Chinese rooftops, accompanied by an original soundtrack of drums, flutes, and dulcimer. The show transitions from icy stillness to radiant celebration, greeting the season with visual poetry.
- When: Nightly from Dec 1 at 6:30 pm, with 3-minute shows every half hour.
2. Madame Tussauds Shanghai
As the first Madame Tussauds in the Chinese mainland and the brand's flagship venue in Asia, this attraction features 12 themed zones and over 100 interactive experiences. Guests can meet over 100 lifelike wax figures of global icons and take photos up close.

3. Suzhou Creek Cruise
Marking three years of scenic navigation along Suzhou Creek, a special rock-themed New Year cruise will set sail on Dec 13. Passengers can interact with onboard musicians and receive exclusive souvenirs, including pins, phone stands, and badge sets.

4. The German Christkindlmarkt 2025
Transforming Yuanmingyuan Road into a cozy German-style winter village, this open-air market features 45 wooden huts offering authentic German food, handcrafted gifts, and the aroma of mulled wine — a festive spot to enjoy with friends and family.
- When: Until Dec 28 (Wednesday to Friday from 3 pm to 10 pm, weekends from noon to 10 pm)

5. Art on the Bund
- Art on the Bund introduces two passes that grant visitors entry to 13 art institutions and three themed tourist routes. From classical masterpieces in historic buildings to cutting-edge installations in contemporary spaces, the passes cover a wide range of art forms — cultural relics, modern art, video works, and craft design — catering to every taste.
