As the city sparkles with winter lights, a season of frosty fun has arrived. No need to travel north — authentic ice rinks, real snow experiences, and snowy nightscapes can be found right here. Below is a curated guide to some of the city's most popular winter experiences.

Part 1: Ice skating spots

1. Gate M West Bund Dream Center

Winter has fully arrived at the West Bund Dream Center. The waterfront carnival features a 1,500-square-meter outdoor ice rink, special performances, artificial snowfall, and a winter market. Glide on ice with river views, under the glitter of neon lights — a truly magical experience.

2. Lujiazui L+Mall

The sunken plaza at L+Mall has been transformed into an ultra-realistic snowy playground. Featuring a 1,000+ sq m winter wonderland and a 500 sq m ice rink, it's a fairy‑tale setting perfect for spinning and gliding with friends and family.

3. The Summit

This new 500 sq m open-air rink sits beside Shanghai Museum East. It connects retail spaces, museums, art venues, and sports facilities, offering a winter experience that blends skating with culture and urban leisure.

When: Now until Feb 28, 2026

Where: Central Plaza, The Summit, No 1, Alley 99, South Yanggao Road, Pudong New Area

4. Bund Financial Center

The Ice Family ice rink has arrived at the Bund. Featuring 300 sq m of outdoor ice, the venue hosts ice sports games and figure‑skating shows. Visitors can also enjoy food festivals, snowy markets, and pet-friendly activities for a full‑spectrum winter experience.

When: Now until March 1, 2026

Part 2: Ski & snow fun

1. L+SNOW Indoor Ski Resort

Covering more than 90,000 sq m, the resort boasts one of the world's largest indoor snow ski areas and a dedicated snow play zone. With four slopes totaling over 1,200 meters in length, it's perfect for all ages and skill levels. Beyond skiing, more than 20 winter performances and activities ensure a full day of fun.

2. SHEERCOOL City Skiing

SHEERCOOL provides full‑service urban skiing with indoor training, gear sales, and organized outdoor ski trips. Helmets are available for all age groups, and ski simulators allow quick adjustments to speed and slope angle, making it easy to switch between different skill levels.

Where: Locations in Pudong New Area, Jiading district, and Changning district.

3. Smile Snow

This indoor ski center is equipped with two ski simulators that replicate slopes from beginner to advanced levels. A large mirror in front of the simulators provides real-time feedback to help skiers adjust their posture. In addition to skiing, visitors can also try archery and shooting activities.
