Shanghai launches season of ice and snow activities
The Shanghai venue of the 12th National Public Ice and Snow Season opened on Jan 3 at the L+SNOW Indoor Ski Resort. The event sparked widespread enthusiasm for winter sports in Shanghai, ushering in the new year with a vibrant wave of ice-and-snow activities.
A unique carnival captivated participants on the opening day. Activities such as snow volleyball matches, tug-of-war on snow, and snow rope-skipping blended traditional winter sports with fun games, showcasing both the charm of winter sports and the appeal of interactive recreation.
Over the course of the season, Shanghai will host 40 ice- and snow-themed events and competitions. Multiple city ice-rinks will offer free skating sessions, and over 12 temporary outdoor ice rinks will be set up to encourage public participation.
