Shanghai's top attractions roll out seasonal experiences
From whimsical park adventures to golden seas of flowers, Shanghai's leading destinations are ready to welcome visitors with a host of new experiences. Here's where to go and what to do.
Shanghai Disney Resort 10th anniversary celebration
Shanghai Disney Resort is celebrating its 10th birthday with festivities that began on March 20 and will continue throughout the year. Three new and enhanced live shows are at the heart of the celebration.
A brand-new production will debut on the newly renovated Enchanted Storybook Castle stage, now expanded with three satellite stages for a more immersive experience. The show features Mickey and friends alongside characters from nine classic Disney and Pixar films.
The Mickey's Storybook Express parade has also been refreshed. All seven Duffy and friends characters appear in new celebration outfits, while a Zootopia-themed float joins the main parade.
The nighttime spectacular has likewise been upgraded for the celebration. Projected onto the castle, the show now weaves in new Disney stories with enhanced visuals and sound, including a new segment inspired by Wish.

Lego Monkie Kid Flower Fruit Mountain Adventure
Shanghai Legoland Resort has launched a soft opening of its new attraction, Lego Monkie Kid Flower Fruit Mountain.
Visitors board a mysterious boat that glides through an immersive world of light and shadow, exploring the hidden corners of Flower Fruit Mountain. As the boat ascends, guests come face to face with a 10-meter-tall Monkie Kid mech before plunging in a thrilling splash.
Annual pass holders who meet the ride's height requirements (minimum 100 centimeters to ride, minimum 130 centimeters to ride unaccompanied) can reserve a spot through the official app or WeChat mini program. The attraction is scheduled to open to all eligible visitors in mid-April.

The 19th Shanghai Fengxian Rapeseed Flower Festival
The 19th Shanghai Fengxian Rapeseed Flower Festival is now in full bloom at the Huami Zhuanghang scenic area, where vast fields of golden blossoms are at their peak.
This year's festival builds on the classic lineup of flower viewing, photography, and countryside dining with new additions. Visitors can climb to elevated vantage points for sweeping views of the fields, explore an intangible cultural heritage exhibition, take a boat ride through the blossoms, or enjoy a horse-drawn carriage tour. For a different perspective, helicopter rides offer views from above. Scattered across the landscape, visitors might also stumble upon live performances of timeless classics or pop-up band sessions.

The 24th Sheshan Bamboo Shoot Culture Festival
The Sheshan Bamboo Shoot Culture Festival will open on March 28 with a launch event featuring costumed characters, including a playful bamboo shoot mascot and the Smurfs appearing throughout the forest.
Across the festival period, the Sheshan resort area will offer a wide range of activities. Families can try their hand at digging bamboo shoots at Sheshan National Forest Park, while nearby hotels roll out specialty dishes featuring the season's prized bamboo shoots. For a deeper experience, educational programs offer a chance to learn about forest birds and the shoots hiding beneath the soil. A bamboo shoot-themed market offers creative souvenirs and local specialties. For a distinctive musical highlight, concerts set within the natural bamboo forest will bring together Scottish highland bagpipes and Chinese folk music.

Chongming Huazhao Festival
The 2026 Chongming Huazhao Festival opened on March 15 at Yingdong Resort, kicking off two months of spring celebrations across the district. Local towns and scenic spots are joining in to offer a wide array of activities for visitors.
As the main venue, the resort has lined up a full program that includes flower-viewing garden walks, spring bamboo shoot digging, fishing for local bass, and a scenic village photo challenge. It also offers hands-on cultural experiences, from making floral arrangements with traditional Chongming cloth to crafting scented wax pendants and handmade soaps.
At Dongping National Forest Park, a series of themed festivals will unfold through May, including celebrations of orchids, wild vegetables, wisteria, and coffee, alongside a forest music and barbecue camping weekend. The programme offers experiences ranging from tranquil walks through blooming woodlands to lively outdoor gatherings.
