On Sept 8, the Shanghai Enterprise Overseas Intellectual Property Service in Mexico City was inaugurated, marking a significant step in supporting Chinese businesses abroad.

Rui Wenbiao, director general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, and Gao Qiang, senior partner at Landing Law Firm, unveiled the plaque together.

Rui highlighted China's commitment to enhancing overseas intellectual property protection and the support from Shanghai in developing these services. The new service in Mexico City aims to strengthen the intellectual property service system for Shanghai enterprises, providing them with up-to-date information and risk prevention advice. This initiative will also foster cooperation between Chinese and Mexican institutions in resolving intellectual property disputes, thereby elevating Shanghai's service standards in Mexico.

During his visit, Rui also met with local officials including Susana Duque, director general of the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology, and Alejandro Luna, president of the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property. They discussed the business operations of Chinese enterprises in Mexico and exchanged insights on intellectual property matters, further solidifying bilateral cooperation.
