Shanghai Intellectual Property Protection Center opens Songjiang branch
In a bid to streamline the protection of intellectual property rights (IPR) and drive high-quality economic development in Shanghai's Songjiang district, the Songjiang branch of the Shanghai IP Protection Center was launched on Dec 6.
The unveiling ceremony took place during the fourth IP Forum of Yangtze River Delta G60 Science and Technology Innovation Valley held in Songjiang.
The Songjiang branch features a reception hall, handling windows, adjudication chambers, conference rooms, training facilities, mediation rooms, and offices for resident organizations. It will focus on patent pre-examination, rapid IP protection, risk monitoring, and training.
Lu Feng, director of Songjiang's IP administration, emphasized that the branch will establish core mechanisms centered around a proactive classification service, an all-encompassing collaborative protection system, and specialized risk alert mechanisms.
The operation of the Songjiang branch has generated excitement among science and technology enterprises and industrial parks in Songjiang. It is expected to bolster IP protection, foster innovation, and advance Songjiang's economic and technological landscape.
Xue Youtian, general manager of Shanghai Lingang Songjiang Science and Technology Town Investment Development Co Ltd, expressed optimism, stating that the branch will help address the weaknesses in IP protection and enforcement capabilities within the Lingang Songjiang Science and Technology Town as well as facilitate breakthroughs in IP transformation and financing through pledges.
Qin Huanzhe, IP manager at Transom (Shanghai), emphasized that the branch's official opening streamlines access to IP-related services, making the process more convenient for businesses.
