Two specialized IP committees for integrated circuits and biopharmaceuticals were established in Shanghai's Pudong New Area on Dec 12.

The committees will conduct patent infringement consultations, organize industry seminars, and analyze key IP issues, fostering IP exchanges and cooperation to support industrial development.

As a major hub for the two industries, Pudong is striving to build a national-level IP protection demonstration zone.

Yu Chen, deputy director-general of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, emphasized that the new IP committees will significantly support these industries, and encouraged Pudong to lead in perfecting its IP protection system, enhancing efficiency, and exploring international cooperation and competition in the IP field.

Lyu Xuecheng, deputy head of Pudong, highlighted Pudong's efforts to strengthen legal protections and build a top-tier IP environment.

The Pudong IP Administration released a list of 54 key trademarks for enhanced protection, covering industries such as finance and advanced manufacturing. This initiative aims to boost the reputation and image of Pudong's trademark brands.

The Pudong IP expert pool expanded with 80 new experts from various fields, including law, finance, technology, and trade. This expert pool aims to provide comprehensive services to enhance the business environment and support IP protection efforts.
