Shanghai has decided to launch its third round of discount dining vouchers. Here's a practical guide to help you claim the first batch and enjoy discounted meals at participating restaurants.

1. Distribution schedule

Start time: 10 am, Dec 7 (Saturday)

Note:

The third round of dining vouchers will be released in three batches:

- First batch: Dec 7

- Second batch: Dec 14

- Third batch: Dec 28

2. Eligibility

The vouchers are available to anyone currently in Shanghai.

3. Voucher values

Four types of vouchers are available, each with different values and minimum spending requirements:

- 90 yuan ($12.64): Valid with a minimum spending of 300 yuan.

- 150 yuan: Valid with a minimum spending of 500 yuan.

- 240 yuan: Valid with a minimum spending of 800 yuan.

- 300 yuan: Valid with a minimum spending of 1,000 yuan.

Note:

Only one voucher can be used per transaction.

4. How to claim vouchers

Vouchers are available on a first come, first served basis through the WeChat, Alipay and UnionPay apps or mini-programs.

Steps to claim them:

- Log into the designated app or mini-program at the release time.

- Enable location services to verify that you're in Shanghai.

- Each person can claim one voucher per platform for each batch.

Validity:

- Vouchers for the first two batches are valid for 10 days after issuance.

- Vouchers for the third batch are valid for 16 days after issuance.

5. How to use vouchers

Present your payment code on UnionPay, Alipay, or WeChat when dining at participating restaurants.

Notes:

- Vouchers can be combined with other in-store promotions and will apply to the final amount after other discounts.

- Vouchers can't be used for purchasing group deals, prepaid cards, or similar items.
