Hongkou district attracts 4,472 talents in first half of 2024
The Talent Work Bureau of Hongkou district has spared no efforts to attract high-level talents from both home and abroad.
By providing top-notch services and precise talent policies, the district has formed a "strong magnetic field" that draws high-level talents to settle and work here.
In the first half of this year, Hongkou district integrated resources from the North Bund Talent Work Alliance and others, utilizing technologies such as virtual reality and digital twins to conduct immersive cloud recruitment.
As of now, 4,472 outstanding talents from home and abroad have been introduced, with a notable increase in overseas talents coming to work in Hongkou district in the first half of the year.
A total of 554 work permits for foreigners coming to China have been issued, including 150 Category A (high-end foreign talents) permits, representing a year-on-year increase of 33.9 percent.
At the onset of this year, Hongkou district began encouraging the participation of various social forces in talent selection and recruitment.
Specifically, it released the "Hongkou District Human Resources Service 'Bole' Award Program Implementation Measures" and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Donghao Lansheng (Group) Co Ltd, a state-owned enterprise specialized in the modern service industry. As part of this collaboration, six global talent recruitment teams were appointed.
Taking advantage of high-profile conferences and events such as the North Bund International Shipping Forum and the North Bund Fortune and Culture Forum, the district has promoted its industries and talent policies, showcased a favorable business environment, and facilitated the mutual pursuit of industries and talents.
Leveraging the Shanghai Innovation and Creative Design Research Institute, the district has also established the North Bund Sci-Tech Innovation Roadshow Center, striving to build a platform for the two-way connection between talents and the market.
Strategic cooperation framework agreements have been signed with Fudan University, Tongji University, and the Institute of Technology and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, among other universities and research institutions, to enhance talent cultivation, achieve resource sharing, and promote regional development.
Additionally, Hongkou district has secured 6,752 houses or apartments through various channels, with 4,578 houses or apartments already supplied.
The district has also released the city's first support policy for talent stations for outstanding domestic and overseas graduates, achieving "full online processing" and "VR house viewing," with nearly 500 individuals already housed.
