The human resources service industry is undergoing a significant transformation due to artificial intelligence technology, according to industry experts at the quarterly Meiyuan Talk on Oct 11.

The event, held in Shanghai's Jing'an district, brought together nearly 100 experts to explore how AI is reshaping the development of HR services, particularly in recruitment and headhunting. Named after Meiyuan Road, home to the city's talent service center and a cluster of HR firms, the forum has become a key event for HR executives.

Experts highlighted AI's ability to streamline resume screening, match candidates to job requirements, and even conduct interview assessments, recommending the best candidates. This, they said, not only boosts recruitment efficiency and reduces labor costs but also offers more precise talent-matching services.

"Traditional recruitment often relies on standardized processes that can sometimes overlook individual qualities," said Zhuang Hua, founder and CEO of an HR firm. "AI has significantly enhanced both recruitment efficiency and job-matching accuracy.

Zhuang predicted that AI-powered agents could revolutionize traditional recruitment models, driving the HR industry toward more intelligent, personalized approaches and making mass customization a reality.

Despite the disruptions AI brings, the opportunities it presents far outweigh the challenges. Cheng Beilei, Party secretary and director of the Jing'an District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, emphasized the need for the HR sector to embrace AI-driven trends. "By harnessing the power of AI, the industry can innovate and drive growth.

Jing'an district is home to China's first HR service industrial park which has widely adopted cutting-edge technologies such as cloud computing, big data, and AI. The district also hosts more than 400 HR service organizations.

Cheng added that Jing'an district plans to introduce policies to support technology innovation and digital transformation of the HR services industry.
