Foreign experts from universities explore Shanghai's industry, heritage, and services
Over 20 foreign experts from Shanghai universities, including Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University, and New York University Shanghai, joined a cultural experience event in Baoshan district on Jan 22.
Participants visited the Shanghai No 1 Iron and Steel Plant, once the largest steel factory in East China and now a symbol of urban renewal.
At the China Baowu Steel Conference and Convention Center, they explored a "time tunnel" installation, watched a science-focused short film, and learned about the evolution of Shanghai's steel industry.

The group also explored the Shanghai Ceramic S&T Art Museum, where interactive exhibits showcased the rich artistry of traditional Chinese ceramics. They participated in a hands-on workshop to craft pottery and painted lanterns, feeling the atmosphere of the upcoming Spring Festival.

At the workshop, a policy consultation booth was set up to provide service guides in English, offering detailed information about its talent-friendly ecosystem.

In recent years, Baoshan has launched initiatives such as innovation competitions, talent-focused events, and networking platforms to attract global professionals.
