Huangpu district in Shanghai has cultivated a skilled talent pool, adding over 10,000 highly-skilled professionals in the past two years, according to a conference on skilled talent on Jan 22.

This growth ranks Huangpu second among the city’s 16 districts in terms of the increase in highly-skilled talent, trailing only Pudong New Area.

In the past year, Huangpu subsidized enterprises to provide vocational skills training to more than 56,000 individuals.

The district hosted 33 regional vocational skills competitions, drawing over 5,000 participants.

Huangpu also supported qualified enterprises in becoming vocational skill certification agencies.
