The 2nd SASE Consumer Healthcare Innovation Competition, hosted by the Shanghai Association of Sci-tech and Economy, seeks innovative projects that are both commercially viable and socially beneficial.

From intelligent wearables to personalized health management, consumer healthcare, which prioritizes preventive treatment while enhancing user experience, is emerging as the focal point of growth in the field of medical healthcare.

Driven by market demand and policy support, the inaugural competition was successfully held in 2023. The second edition is expected to further explore the deep integration of technology and consumer application scenarios.

Eligibility

The competition welcomes applications from domestic and international university students, research institutes, start-ups, and entrepreneurs. Candidates must be the initiators of the projects.

They must:

• Have a good reputation. Enterprises should own intellectual property rights and operate lawfully. Participating enterprises and projects should maintain a good social record without any misconduct. All team members must have no criminal records or serious credit issues. Failure to comply with national laws may result in disqualification or the cancellation of awards.
• Focus on the field of consumer healthcare.
• Have a relatively mature business model and a clear path to profitability, along with the ability to successfully commercialize its products or services.
• Apply individually or in teams of up to three members. Each individual can only register for one program.

Timeline

Application deadline: Aug 31

Preliminary selection: Sept 1-15

The review will be conducted in batches both online and offline. The judges include industrial professionals, clinical experts and investors. Both the organizing committee and judges can determine if the projects are qualified.

Finals: Late September

Finals will be held in the form of roadshows. Specific dates and locations will be announced later.
