Shanghai's Qingpu district hosted the Summer Wind Science and Technology Innovation: Digital Ecology Tour on Aug 22, inviting international and domestic professionals to learn about the district's advances in innovation and talent policies.
Participants visited sites including Hemu Village and the Yangtze River Delta Zhaoxiang Hi-Tech Park, and attended seminars on scientific innovation, artificial intelligence, new energy, and talent policies, combining technology, innovation, and ecological perspectives.
Lucy Mary Clarke, a design teacher at Qingpu United International School, joined the program. She appreciated the opportunity to engage with professionals from various industries and was impressed by the charming village, with its distinctive shops and riverside restaurants.
During the tour of Hemu Village, participants explored local shops and learned about the village's transformation. They got a glimpse of the Chinese-style slow-paced life of the Jiangnan region, south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Lucy captured the picturesque scenes and shared them with friends, inviting them to visit.
At the Yangtze River Delta Zhaoxiang Hi-Tech Park, participants gained deeper insights into the park's planning, technological achievements, industrial ecosystem, talent services, and supporting policies through exhibitions, videos, sandbox models, and on-site visits.
During the briefing, participants were introduced to the updated Qingfeng Talent Policy 2.0, which outlined the district's latest initiatives to support professionals.
Reflecting on the experience, Lucy said that Shanghai is an inclusive and open city that welcomes talent from all fields. She witnessed how rapidly the design industry is developing, with various designs and technologies, including the railway network, expanding globally.
