Lin-gang to launch second Chinese language session for expats
Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area launched a Chinese learning program for expats in July. The program is now launching its second session.
This session features an upgraded and flexible learning model that combines online and offline classes. Participants who are unable to attend in person can join online with the class in real-time.

Five highlights
1.Online and offline learning
Whether participants are on a business trip or unable to attend in person, the upgraded format enables live, interactive participation through online access.
2.More spacious venue
The second session will take place in an newly upgraded learning space at the Lin-gang Youth Center. The venue is more spacious and comfortable, equipped with professional teaching facilities that support group discussions, scenario simulations, and interactive games, ensuring a richer learning experience.
3.Special cultural experience
Coinciding with China's traditional Chongyang Festival, the opening class integrates festival culture into the language lesson. Each participant will also receive a customized gift pack.
4.Tiered teaching
The session accommodates learners at different levels. Former students are encouraged to help guide new learners, while those with some prior knowledge can take part in advanced practical conversation sessions.
5.Comprehensive course content
Led by Song Jingyao, who holds a PhD in linguistics from Peking University, this session centers on "Daily Life in Lin-gang" and features more practical, natural expressions for everyday situations. Topics include:
- How to bargain when buying groceries at a market?
- How to order authentic food at a restaurant?
- How to ask for directions accurately when taking public transport?
- What are good opening lines when making local friends?
