Lin-gang Special Area strengthens support for international talent
With the theme "Lin-gang, Your Innovation Partner", the 2025 Lin-gang International Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exchange Conference was held in Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area on Nov 17.
Attracting more than 130 international students from 55 countries, the conference demonstrated Lin-gang's growing appeal as an international talent hub.
The conference unveiled new talent policies to support college and university students in Lin-gang, including three types of subsidies for internships, traineeships, and commuting expenses. The policy package also provides four benefits: free accommodation for up to two months, a 500-yuan ($70.27) welcome package, premium career development courses, and comprehensive internship insurance.
To better support international talent, the Lin-gang International Talent Service Pass was released, enabling users to access policy guidance on visas, residence, and other services with a simple tap on their phones.
In addition, the Lin-gang Immigration Integration Service Standard Post and Foreigners' Social Integration Service Station were inaugurated at the conference, providing systematic support for international talent looking to settle in Lin-gang.
The International Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Base was launched during the event, with 10 universities from China and abroad — including Fudan University and Hanyang University — joining as its first partners. The base aims to offer international talent a broader platform for innovation and career development.
The conference also held an award ceremony for outstanding representatives of the "Seed Future Lin-gang" talent program, with six international students receiving awards. The recipients have promoted Lin-gang through their short videos and other new media channels, attracting overseas students and foreign professionals.
