Shanghai hosted the youth innovation and entrepreneurship series in Putuo district on Nov 27, highlighting international talent collaboration and entrepreneurial dynamism.

The event also featured the launch of the semifinals of the 12th "Chuang Qingchun" Shanghai Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest (Lin-gang Cup) for participants from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas.

The Youth Innovation Roundtable π, organized by the Shanghai Youth Federation, connects the industrial innovation belt along Shanghai and Nanjing, Jiangsu province, with cutting-edge fields such as AI, biomedicine, new materials, and consumer tech. It offers a high-level platform for sharing insights and encouraging collaboration.

Since its inception, the platform has held ten in-depth sessions, involved over 300 young professionals from more than 40 fields, and generated about 200 practical innovation proposals. Outstanding suggestions are being reviewed for submission to Shanghai's public policy consultation platform.

At the exhibition zone, Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Student Innovation Center, Changzheng Town's Bochuang Building Science & Technology Industry Space, and Kaga Incubator signed a tripartite cooperation agreement to promote tech transfer, offer subsidies, and support hard-tech startups.

Organizers said the series underscores Shanghai's goal to develop a world-class innovation ecosystem. By merging resources, culture, and creativity, both international and local young entrepreneurs are motivated to contribute to regional economic renewal and help establish Shanghai as a center of global innovation.
