Shanghai's Minhang district held the Decoding the Essence of Future Maker: Rising Entrepreneurs Forum, a core event of the 5th Shanghai Talent+ Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit, at the Grand Neobay on Nov 26.

As a flagship talent initiative and a symbol of the city's innovative appeal, "Shanghai Talent+" aims to build a benchmark platform for global talent, technology, projects, and capital. The core events at the summit focused on key stages in the growth path of emerging entrepreneurial talent.

By targeting young innovators who pioneer new frontiers in technology and demonstrate groundbreaking capabilities, the event fosters the integration of the talent leadership chain, technological innovation chain, industrial development chain, and financial support chain.

The forum kicked off with heads of the organizing committees, including Mat Honan, editor in chief of the technology media MIT Technology Review, delivering opening remarks.

China Construction Bank Shanghai Branch launched its WeChat mini program centered around five "Enjoy" services: enjoy innovation, enjoy entrepreneurship, enjoy living, enjoy life, and enjoy investment.

At the event, the 2025 cohort of collaborative partners for the "Chunshen Talent New Highland" initiative was officially unveiled, covering five key sectors: global expansion, media, talent recruitment and cultivation, higher education, and investment and lending.

Another highlight was the official entry of the first 10 projects into the zero-cost startup space of the "Shanghai Talent+" Entrepreneurship City.

As a key district initiative to support youth innovation and entrepreneurship, the space offers five "zero" benefits: zero cost for space usage, zero burden for living, zero distance for professional services, zero barriers for resource matching, and zero waiting time for administrative support.

The inaugural projects feature top talent from both China and abroad, including academicians, professors, and doctoral graduates from leading institutions, demonstrating the strong appeal of the entrepreneurship hub.

In the roundtable dialogue session, five guests from industry, academia, research, and investment engaged in a discussion on the theme "Decoding the Essence of Future Maker", exploring four dimensions in addressing the challenges across talent cultivation, technological breakthroughs, market value discovery, and industrial implementation.

The event also included live roadshows where three emerging startups showcased the vibrancy and potential of future industries.

Supermag Technology demonstrated breakthroughs in the mass production of high-temperature superconducting tapes and their application prospects in the energy sector. Gnosis Neurodynamics introduced a brain-computer interface and AI analysis system based on millions of data cases, while Xiguangsheng highlighted the potential of high-performance optoelectronic chips to overcome computing power bottlenecks in the post-Moore era.

These projects not only represent cutting-edge achievements in new energy, brain science, and new materials but also illustrate the innovative capability of scientific transformation.

The "Rising Night" session featured a technology imagination show and an open-mic science relay. During the talk show-style session, young scientists and rising entrepreneurs from around the world shared their personal journeys of entrepreneurial growth.

To put into practice China's development strategy, which holds that "technology is the primary productive force, talent is the primary resource, and innovation is the primary driving force," Minhang district has designated the Greater Neobay as its central zone for tech innovation.

The "Shanghai Talent+" Entrepreneurship City has been established there, seamlessly integrating R&D, incubation, investment, and talent development.

Capitalizing on this dynamic environment, the city continues to draw global talent and entrepreneurs, driving the transformation of advanced technologies and supporting Shanghai's vision to build a globally influential talent hub.
