Shanghai’s Baoshan district recently hosted a salon focused on foreign talent and cross-border business in Miaohang town, with the aim of cultivating a talent pool, strengthening China–Europe resource linkages, and supporting enterprises in their overseas expansion.

The event also marked the launch of two key platforms: the French innovation center and the Baoshan overseas talent station. Both platforms will focus on cutting-edge sectors such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine, and green energy, serving as new carriers for international investment and collaboration.

The Baoshan overseas talent station is positioned as a “super connector” linking overseas professionals with local development needs, an “empowerment accelerator” supporting professional growth, and an “global connect” facilitating talent exchanges and collaboration. 

By integrating the district’s policy guidance, public services, and activity resources, the station aims to lower initial barriers to accessing information and resources for overseas talent, while providing comprehensive support through career development and settlement.

The French innovation center has brought together a dozen overseas experts, including European venture capitalist Olivier Edwards and Jean-Pierre Armand, president of the European Society for Medical Oncology. 

It is designed to offer enterprises integrated services spanning market access, technology transformation, and financial empowerment, helping accelerate innovation and support enterprises in expanding globally.

Together, the two platforms aim to pool global resources and better serve regional development. By providing systematic support for international talent and enterprise globalization, Baoshan seeks to further optimize its business environment and strengthen its talent ecosystem.
