Shanghai gathers young professionals from foreign-invested enterprises for innovation
The second session of the second members' convention of the Shanghai Foreign Invested Enterprise Youth Talent Association was held at the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Auditorium on Jan 24, bringing together more than 200 members and guests.
The president of the association delivered a comprehensive work report, reviewing the association's notable progress across six key areas: facilitating communication and learning, providing platforms for new technology demonstration, contributing to urban development, serving and nurturing young talent, engaging in public welfare, and organizing international youth exchanges.
The report highlighted steady membership growth, now encompassing professionals from over 100 Fortune Global 500 companies. Brand events like the high-level talent exchange convention have gained significant influence, serving as crucial platforms for connecting professionals and urban progress.
The association has also outlined three strategic directions: deepening ideological understanding, strengthening functional capabilities, and promoting integrated development, aiming to enhance its organizational influence and service value.
The convention reviewed and approved a financial report and announced a supplementary list of new members, welcoming a group of outstanding young professionals from foreign enterprises.
The 2025 outstanding performance list was unveiled, with 20 members recognized for their exceptional contributions to the association's activities and social impact. During an exchange session, representatives shared their personal stories of growth within the association and their professional integration into Shanghai.
In addition, the convention launched four new programs: a lecture hall, a sustainable development alliance, a youth running club, and a youth water club. Representatives introduced the vision and planned activities for each project, showcasing the association's commitment to sustainability, healthy lifestyles, and community building.
The association signed strategic cooperation agreements with the Shanghai Young Entrepreneurs Association and the Hong Kong-Shanghai Youth Association, aiming to foster collaboration in talent development, regional coordination, resource sharing, and youth exchange.
Founded in January 2018, the association is the first social organization in Shanghai and China dedicated to young professionals in foreign-invested enterprises. Guided by its mission to gather talent, serve development, and contribute to society, it has become a key force in uniting young talent in Shanghai and supporting the city's socioeconomic progress.
