To further cultivate a high-level, innovative, and interdisciplinary talent pool and accelerate the development into a world-class institution of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SHUTCM) is inviting outstanding young postdoctoral researchers from China and around the world to apply. The university offers competitive compensation packages and comprehensive institutional support. Details are as follows.

Founded in 1956, SHUTCM is among the first four TCM higher education institutions established in China following the founding of the People's Republic of China. Over nearly seven decades, the university has built a distinguished reputation for academic rigor, clinical excellence, and cultural heritage.

Eligibility

1.  Applicants must hold a doctoral degree, demonstrate strong moral character and academic competence, and be in good health. They should be under the age of 35 and have obtained their doctorate no more than three years prior to the application.

2.  Application requirements may be appropriately relaxed if the applicants have achieved significant high-level academic accomplishments in the past three years, such as high-impact academic papers, academic monographs, or invention patents.

3.  Detailed information on specific research directions and recruitment requirements for cooperating supervisors is available in the recruitment plan published on the university's official website.

Compensation and Benefits

(1) Annual base salary:

A minimum of 300,000 yuan (about $43,675) per person per year, before tax, for postdoctoral researchers based at the main campus.

Note:

- Remuneration for clinical postdoctoral researchers is detailed in the relevant recruitment plan.

- Additional funding: Recipients of various programs can simultaneously receive corresponding funding support, with a maximum annual projected salary of 680,000 yuan. Key programs include the national program supporting postdoctoral researchers administered by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, postdoctoral international exchange programs, and the Shanghai "Super Postdoctoral" program.

- Outstanding postdoctoral researchers will be given priority consideration for retention and faculty positions at the university upon completion of their term.

(2) Housing support:

The university provides assistance in applying for Shanghai postdoctoral apartments during the appointment period. Postdoctoral researchers at the main campus may also apply for young faculty dormitories according to relevant regulations.

(3) Social insurance:

The university assists candidates with contributions to pension, medical, and unemployment insurance, as well as the housing provident fund in accordance with relevant regulations during the appointment period.
