Shanghai's Minhang district hosted a symposium on building an international talent ecosystem at the "Shanghai Talent+" Entrepreneurship City on March 10. The event brought together foreign executives and key professionals from companies including Voith, Yamaha, Michelin, and KSB to exchange ideas and perspectives.

Participants shared their work and life experiences in Minhang during the discussions, ranging from newcomers who arrived just two months ago to long-term residents of 23 years, who have witnessed Minhang's transformation.

All attendees spoke highly of Minhang's high-quality living and business environment, highlighting its safe and orderly surroundings, convenient and efficient support services, detailed talent support, and upgraded digital government services.

They also expressed confidence in realizing their personal aspirations and in the long-term development of their companies in Minhang. Rakesh Kumar, vice-president and general manager of EAG China, said the event was a "friendly and fruitful exchange of experiences and expectations between foreigners and authorities". Steve Lewis, president of Voith Hydro Shanghai, who has worked and lived in the city for two decades, expressed his gratitude to the Minhang District Talent Bureau for the convenience it has provided in work permit applications and talent residency procedures.

Discussions focused on core issues such as facilitating services for foreign talent, upgrading digital government services, expanding overseas talent recruitment channels, and enhancing support in housing, education, and healthcare. Participants also put forward practical suggestions for future development.

The symposium emphasized the importance of collaboration among government, enterprises, and talent, aiming to optimize the district's international talent services and build a broad, efficient service network to promote the deep integration of the talent, innovation, industrial, and capital chain.

In addition, Minhang plans to establish a closed-loop service mechanism to address the full-cycle needs of foreign professionals and provide one-stop, tailored services.
