Jing'an launches self-service fast-pass filing device for foreign nationals
Jing'an Global Connect has introduced a new self-service filing device for fast-pass exit-entry clearance, improving convenience for foreign nationals in Shanghai.
Developed by the Shanghai Airport Border Inspection Station, the device was first deployed at Jing'an Global Connect. It allows eligible users to complete filing in advance, eliminating the need to do so only at ports and reducing on-site processing time.
The device integrates multiple functions, including document reading, fingerprint capture, facial image capture, and information verification. The entire process is designed to be simple and intuitive, enabling even first-time users to complete filing in around 30 seconds.
Users can now complete filing in advance. Once approved, they can use the e-channel at airport ports instead of manual lanes for entry and exit clearance, significantly reducing waiting times and improving the overall clearance experience for foreign nationals.
Tobias Le Compte from Belgium, who tried the device, said he would recommend it to his friends in Shanghai.
The initiative is part of Jing’an’s ongoing efforts to improve the international business environment and provide more responsive services for overseas visitors. Leveraging the Jing'an branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau's overseas talent direct connect platform, Jing'an Global Connect has established an integrated service model featuring unified platform coordination, support from five types of police divisions, and streamlined, end-to-end government services.
The hub has also upgraded integration services for foreign nationals across the district, with the aim of strengthening their sense of belonging and overall satisfaction. It offers a wide range of services across finance, culture and tourism, daily life, shopping, and emergency assistance, covering 142 core services and 382 extended services.
