Overseas PhD professionals join Shanghai Global Talents event in Jing'an
The 2026 "Shanghai Global Talents" Overseas PhD Talent Shanghai Tour Jing'an Special Session on AI & Robotics was held in Jing'an district, bringing together overseas PhD professionals in the field for exchanges, site visits, and enterprise-talent matchmaking.
The participants included 15 PhD professionals in AI and robotics from 12 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Singapore. The group featured senior managers, chief scientists, and technical directors from Fortune Global 500 companies, alongside professors and laboratory founders from internationally renowned institutions such as the University of Oxford and University College London.
During an exchange session, the experts held dialogues and project roadshows with representatives from nearly 30 local AI and robotics enterprises, leading investment institutions, and innovation and entrepreneurship bases.
A curated site-visit route led the talent team through Jing'an's key sci-tech innovation areas, allowing participants to experience the district's technological vitality firsthand. They visited enterprises including Fengyuzhu, Digiwin, and Yogo Robot, learning about core products, cutting-edge technologies, and real-world applications while interacting with corporate executives and technical experts.
At the Audio-Visual Jingjie Meta Space, participants learned about the development and planning of Jing'an's ultra-high-definition audiovisual sector and experienced achievements in ultra-high-definition technology, VR, and AI-driven healthcare. They also discussed policies for setting up operations there and potential co-development opportunities.
The program included a visit to Zhangyuan, giving the experts insights into Shanghai-style culture and the area's commercial vitality.
On May 11, an enterprise-talent matchmaking seminar was held at Jing'an Global Connect, where local representatives presented an overview of the district, its sci-tech industrial layout, and innovation ecosystem. The event linked overseas talent with Jing'an's industrial resources and key enterprises, supporting closer exchanges among talent, government, and enterprises.
