Jing'an adds two youth hostels, providing up to 15 days of free accommodation

Shanghai's Jing'an district has added two new municipal-level youth hostels, offering eligible young graduates up to 15 days of free accommodation as they look for work in the city.

The hostels have convenient locations, high-standard services, and a quality living environment, providing free, fully furnished accommodation for eligible applicants.

Hostel introduction

1. Vlinker New Jing'an Central Community (Phase II) Youth Hostel

Themed "PUMP", the hostel offers free amenities including a study room, shared kitchen, tiered book bar, reception hall, billiards room, and game room, creating a vibrant and convenient space for young residents.

2. Youjian Apartment Datong Road Community Youth Hostel

The hostel offers amenities including a gym, public reception center, library, table tennis room, and a shared green area, creating a comfortable and pleasant living atmosphere.

Featured services

1. The youth hostels include a resident self-governance platform, encouraging residents to participate in decisions such as drying area renovations and network upgrades. Additional platforms, such as the "happiness council hall", the "youth talent fellowship", and the "youth council group" online platform, are designed to address a range of needs and interests among residents.

2. The youth hostels carry out regular programs such as the pop-up clinic and the youth night school, offering customized services including free medical consultations and career planning, along with practical courses in Shanghai dialect, intangible cultural heritage workshops, and AI workplace skills.

Eligibility

1.  Full-time students and recent graduates of regular higher education institutions, domestic or overseas, who are coming to Shanghai to seek jobs are eligible from one year before graduation to two years after graduation.

2. Provide at least one proof of job-seeking activity, such as an interview notice, offer letter, or internship confirmation from a local employer, along with the contact information of the employer's human resources department.

3. Each applicant may stay for a maximum of 15 days per single visit, with a total limit of 15 days per year.

4. Applicants must not hold Shanghai household registration, and must not own, rent, or otherwise occupy housing in Shanghai.

5. Applicants must strictly abide by the hostel's code of conduct.

Application process

Applications may be completed via the WeChat accounts "Qingchun Shanghai" (ID: qingchunshanghai) or "Shanghai 12355" (ID: sh_12355), or the "海聚英才通" (hai ju ying cai tong) app.

1. Information registration:

Fill in basic personal information, complete real-name authentication and academic verification, which will be confirmed via text message within one working day.

2. Online application:

Upon verification, submit a stay application 2 to 20 days in advance and upload the required job-seeking documents. Only one room may be applied for per request, with results confirmed via text message within two working days.

3. Check-in and check-out:

Upon approval, arrive at the hostel on the agreed date with your ID card and the confirmation text message. Check-in is available from 2 pm to 10 pm. Guests are required to sign the stay instructions and pay a deposit.

4. Cancellation:

- To cancel a reservation, apply at least two days in advance to avoid deducting the remaining stay days.

- Canceling one day in advance will deduct one day from the remaining stay.

- Failure to check in without prior notice will result in a one-year suspension of eligibility for all youth hostels in the city.
