More than 40 representatives from China and abroad gathered in Shanghai's Putuo district on July 16 and 17 for a training camp ahead of the 6th Shanghai Global Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the city's flagship talent recruitment program.

The competition has attracted more than 16,000 projects worldwide across six strategic sectors: integrated circuits, biomedicine, artificial intelligence, green and low-carbon technologies, high-end equipment, and fashion and consumption.

The training camp combined project coaching with an in-depth introduction to Putuo's innovation ecosystem. Government and industry experts provided guidance on competition criteria, business plan development, fundraising strategies, and market positioning through lectures and one-on-one mentoring.

Participants also took immersive tours of the West Joy Apartment, the 360 Group's East China Headquarters, and the "Talent+" regular roadshow hall, gaining firsthand experience of Putuo's research, industrial, and talent-support infrastructure.

The program concluded with a live roadshow, during which selected teams presented their projects to investors, followed by matchmaking sessions with government departments responsible for policy support, investment promotion, and talent services.

Putuo will recommend 60 outstanding projects from its four qualifying competitions to the city-level semi-finals in August, with finalists advancing to the global finals in October. District officials said they will continue to improve end-to-end talent services to attract international innovators and support Shanghai's high-quality development.
