China Maritime Museum is the first national navigation museum approved by the State Council.

Themed on "navigation" and based on "natural science", the museum has six pavilions on navigation history, ships, navigation and ports, maritime affairs and maritime safety, seafarers and military navigation, and two display zones themed on fishing boats and fishing, and navigation sports and leisure. 

It also has a space museum, a 4D cinema and a children's activity center, covering functions such as cultural relics collection, academic research, social education and displays.
