Shanghai Postal Museum reopens after major revamp
The Shanghai Postal Museum – which first opened in 2006 – officially reopened on Dec 1 following an extensive renovation that began in April.
The museum is located in the iconic General Post Office Building, a historic landmark in Shanghai that was built in 1924, which celebrates its centenary this year.
The renovation is said to have enhanced the museum's exhibits, aiming to establish it as both a premier tourist destination and a hub for promoting postal culture.
The General Post Office Building continues to function as a postal service center while serving as a popular attraction. Visitors can enjoy the charms of its historic architecture while exploring the museum.
Since its original opening, the museum has drawn many thousands of visitors.
