Music in the Summer Air, or MISA, is a flagship event of the 2026 Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season, but it is just one of many highlights in Shanghai's summer performance lineup.

Across the city, performing arts markets, outdoor concerts, family performances, DJ events, and waterfront activities are filling the calendar throughout July and August.

 

Tequila Festival

When: July 17 to 19

Where: LU1885, No 665 Shangcheng Road, Pudong New Area

More than 20 bar brands across China will gather for a three-day tequila festival featuring over 100 limited-edition signature cocktails.

Visitors can enjoy interactive bar games and evening DJ sets featuring world music performances. On July 18, a free AlphaTheta DJ workshop led by professional instructors will introduce beginners to the basics of DJ mixing.

 

"Show Every Day" performing arts market

When: July 24 to Aug 2

Where: Beside Shanghai No 1 Department Store, intersection of Liuhe Road and East Nanjing Road, Huangpu district

This 10-day market celebrates Shanghai's performing arts scene with theater-themed installations, live performances, and over 20 booths featuring local performing arts organizations, popular desserts, lifestyle brands, and fragrances.

Visitors can also enjoy prize draws, special gifts, guest appearances, and live performances throughout the event. Those with eligible performance tickets can receive additional benefits at participating stores.

 

BFC Music Festival

When: July to August

Where: 5F Terrace, Bund Finance Center, No 600 East Zhongshan Road Number Two, Huangpu district

This festival brings live music to one of Shanghai's best-known rooftop venues throughout the summer.

July features jazz and romantic duet performances, while August showcases electronic music presented by 10 different music labels.

 

Lawn Life Season

When: July 10 to 20

Where: Southeast side of Shanghai Urban Music Lawn, No 88 Middle Jinling Road, Huangpu district

Running alongside the summer edition of Shanghai Urban Music Lawn performances, the event combines outdoor concerts with a themed market.

The lineup features Grammy-winning jazz musicians, internationally renowned ensembles, leading Chinese traditional musicians, and crossover artists performing jazz, classical, Chinese traditional music, and film soundtracks.

From July 17 to 20, a daily market opens from 4:30 pm to 10 pm, offering food stalls, limited-edition summer drinks, shooting games, ring toss, and other family-friendly activities.

 

Family fun week

When: July 21 to 26

Where: Jaguar Shanghai Symphony Hall, No 1380 Middle Fuxing Road, Xuhui district

As an extension of MISA, this family fun week offers a summer arts program designed for children and families.

The program features three performances for younger children, including traditional shadow puppetry, interactive music workshops, and classical concerts for babies and toddlers, along with four children's choir concerts and two instrumental performances by young musicians.

 

"Suzhou Creek Half Marathon" waterfront lifestyle season

When: July to August

Where: Dan Ba Art Pier, No 3336 West Guangfu Road, Putuo district

Nine events will take place along the Suzhou Creek waterfront, including sports viewing, soccer activities, choir performances, themed concerts, DJ sets, and paddleboarding. Food and drinks will be available on site. Together, they create a lively destination for families, sports enthusiasts, and music lovers.

 

Live in City festival

When: July 17 to Aug 23

Where: Hongqiao Qianwan Incity Mega, No 388 Lianyou Road, Minhang district

The festival features live performances spanning Latin, jazz, and pop, along with interactive summer activities.

Special guest bands and performers will take the stage from July 17 to 18 and July 24 to 25, while visitors can cool off by joining water gun battles in the south zone on Level 1 of the mall.
