Shanghai has established a special fund aimed at stimulating commercial consumption as the city seeks to leverage the spending power of both domestic and international visitors.

According to guidelines issued by the city, the fund will support market entities such as event organizers, professional service agencies, and social platforms in jointly hosting commercial marketing, dining, leisure, and other consumption-promotion activities during large-scale themed events.

Additionally, the fund will assist tax refund shops in purchasing essential equipment for tax refund services, including computers, printers, and passport verification machines. It will also support these shops in promoting tax refund policies by displaying guidance notices both inside and outside their premises.

The fund will also provide support to local market entities, such as commercial complexes and professional service providers, in installing or upgrading multilingual service consultation desks, multilingual signage systems, luggage storage facilities, and other consumer service facilities.

Eligible projects conducted between January 1 and June 30 may apply for this fund. Each project may only apply for subsidies under one specific category from the fund.

Applicants must submit complete, authentic, and valid documents, bearing the official seal of their organization. The application deadline is September 10.
