Changning holds matchmaking event to attract talent

The Changning District Bureau of Talent Work in Shanghai, in partnership with the Alliance of American Universities in China Association (AUCA), organized an event on July 26-27 to attract Chinese students studying abroad and premium projects.

The event brought together representatives from the China offices of 20 foreign universities, Chinese students currently studying overseas, and key enterprises in Changning to enhance communication platforms and opportunities. It also received support from 64 members of the AUCA.

Key enterprises such as Bosch, Unilever, Eaton, and China Eastern Airlines outlined their specific talent needs. Wu Wenting, chairwoman of AUCA, expressed optimism about Changning's potential as a talent hub, emphasizing future collaboration in talent cultivation and industry-education integration.

Before the launch of the event, participants visited the Shanghai Hongqiao One-Stop Service Center for Overseas Talents and learned about Changning's efforts to improve its business environment.

On July 27, 42 Shanghai-based benchmark enterprises, along with over 500 Chinese students studying abroad, participated in a matchmaking event and job fair. The job-seeking forum featured sharing sessions on various topics, including keynote speeches on enterprise talent needs and alumni career roundtable exchanges, aiding students in understanding current domestic industry trends and job opportunities in Changning.

At the job fair, in addition to presentations by companies like Ctrip, Bosch, and L'Oréal, many enterprises provided one-on-one CV modification and interview counseling, while also presenting a total of 2,315 full-time and internship positions to the talented individuals in attendance.

By offering a platform for dialogue and collaboration, Changning aims to strengthen connections between talent, universities, and enterprises, which is set to foster regional economic growth.

Moving forwards, plans are in motion for the district to continue enhancing its talent ecosystem, optimizing policies, and expanding cooperation with overseas institutions and enterprises to cement its position as a talent magnet.
