The Shanghai Enterprise Confederation, the Shanghai Association of Entrepreneurs, the Shanghai Federation of Economic Organizations and the Jiefang Daily newspaper recently announced the list of the top 100 business enterprises in Shanghai for 2024.

Five companies from the Changning district of the city made it onto the prestigious list – with an additional 16 companies securing a spot in various sub-categories of the top 100 enterprise rankings, according to a news conference.

The annual ranking aims to recognize companies that have made significant contributions to the economic and social development of Shanghai.

The selection criteria were primarily based on their operating incomes. Data from the evaluation revealed that the performance of the top 100 emerging industry enterprises in 2023 continued to exhibit strong growth momentum, achieving record revenues and net profits.

In particular, three Changning-based companies have made their debut in the series of top 100 enterprises rankings this year. They are Shanghai Spring International Travel Service (Group) Co Ltd, Shanghai Xiaotu Network Technology Co Ltd and Shanghai Tengqiao Information Technology Co Ltd.

The news conference was told that the enterprises from Changning district that made it to the top 100 enterprise rankings demonstrated strong momentum for growth.

Compared with the previous year, the companies listed in the Shanghai top 100 enterprises for 2024 achieved an average year-on-year revenue growth of 71.66 percent - while those included in the 2024 Shanghai top 100 private enterprises recorded a revenue increase of 76.47 percent, both surpassing the overall citywide growth rates.

The success and growth of these enterprises is said to not only reflect their individual achievements, but also underscores the dynamic business landscape and economic vitality of Shanghai as a whole.
