Three expats working in Changning receive Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award

Three expatriates from Changning district were awarded the 2024 Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award on Nov 23, recognizing their significant contributions to the city's development and international exchanges.

The honorees are Jason Peng, vice-president of Danaher and group executive of Danaher China; Carlo D'Andrea, vice-president of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China; and Sumitoshi Matsuo, chairman of Nippon Express.

This year's 50 Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award recipients hail from 18 countries. They have made key contributions to Shanghai's development in fields such as trade, finance, technology, shipping, healthcare, education, culture, sports, and agriculture.

Under Peng's leadership, Danaher has implemented its localization strategy in China, establishing its regional joint headquarters in Shanghai and investing in nine R&D and manufacturing bases and five innovation centers across the country.

Peng has been deeply engaged in the development of the local innovation ecosystem and industrial chain, aiming to make Danaher a preferred partner for the innovative transformation of technological achievements.

Carlo D'Andrea founded D'Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel in 2013 and has since provided comprehensive legal services to multinational companies investing in China.

He assists companies with cross-border mergers and acquisitions, international investments, relocation projects, and intellectual property protection. He also offers professional and efficient services to foreign enterprises investing in China, particularly in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Sumitoshi Matsuo has been dedicated to promoting economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between China and Japan for a long time.

In addition to creating new value through logistics, he actively participates in social welfare activities and cultural exchanges between China and Japan, helping strengthen relations between the two countries.
