Sino-Japan business event held in Changning
A recent event in Changning district of Shanghai brought together leaders and representatives from government departments, organizations, and enterprises for a symposium focused on fostering new quality productive forces and enhancing Sino-Japan economic cooperation.
Xue Feng, director of the Shanghai Foreign Investment Development Board, analyzed Shanghai's current foreign investment environment, evaluated local advantages and challenges in Changning district and the whole city, and expressed confidence in aligning Shanghai's industries with global standards.
Experts delved into topics such as high-quality development and the analysis of economic and trade relations between China and Japan. They discussed common challenges and opportunities for cooperation, aiming to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
The event also acknowledged the achievements of various organizations and individuals in promoting collaboration between Chinese and Japanese enterprises.
As home to one-fifth of Shanghai's total foreign population, Changning is a pivotal hub for Sino-Japan economic and trade collaboration. It hosts over 6,900 foreign-funded enterprises and 700 representative offices of foreign companies.
Changning boasts 87 regional headquarters of multinational companies, with Japanese headquarters accounting for 40 percent of them.
ASICS, a presence in Changning for nearly two decades, exemplifies this trend, with the Chinese market now ranking as its fourth-largest market after Japan, North America, and Europe.
