Shanghai's Changning district is making efforts to attract talent by creating rental apartments that feel like home.

The Hongqiao Talent Apartment in Changning is the largest affordable rental housing project in Shanghai's central urban area, with over 2,000 leases already signed.

Xu Feitong discovered the Hongqiao Talent Apartments on Suishenban, Shanghai's one-stop public service app, and became a tenant last year.

"I'm into sports and fitness, and luckily, the Hongqiao Sports Park is nearby, which not only offers numerous sports facilities but also hosts concerts," Xu said.

Xu has made many like-minded friends in the community and frequently plays badminton with them. He hopes to engage in even more sports in the future.

Wang Shuo chose to move into one of the apartments due to its proximity to both his workplace and his girlfriend's home. Due to frequent business trips, the excellent location near the Hongqiao transportation hub was a crucial factor in his decision to live there.

"After living here for two months, I'm very satisfied with the lifestyle. I've made many friends in this pet-friendly community, and there are cycling paths nearby," Wang said.

The Hongqiao Talent Apartment plans to add approximately 30,000 square meters of commercial space, including markets, eateries, and co-working areas.
