Changning welcomes global minds home for a fruitful New Year

The Changning branch of the Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association hosted its New Year gathering on March 2, bringing together nearly 100 people from international university alumni groups to discuss how overseas talent can contribute to regional development.
Fu Xiaoxiao, president of the Changning branch, highlighted the organization's 2024 achievements, including initiatives such as the Walk Together event, the Second Artificial Intelligence Forum, and the Changning Returnees' Home.
Looking ahead, Fu emphasized the branch's commitment to connecting talent, technology, and capital to support Shanghai's goal of becoming a world-class hub for talent.
During the event, the association announced five major initiatives for this year, including hosting the second Walk Together event, the third AI forum, and the Global Connection Afternoon Tea series for international alumni. Plans to establish a volunteer team and expand the Returnees' Home to cover all local communities were announced as well.
In addition, 26 outstanding members were recognized for their contributions at the event.
"We have built a strong, supportive ecosystem where overseas returnees can grow and thrive together. Entrepreneurship requires hands-on experience, and I look forward to contributing more to Changning's vibrant business environment in the coming year," said Ma Ning, a corporate representative, when reflecting on his three years with the association.
